Default need help with 2000 si converted to obd1

i have a 2000 si that i recently put a ls/vtec in. the ls bottom end is a 92 and the head is obd1 i used the stock 2000 si harness and used the obd2 to obd1 jumper harness with a chipped p28. the bottom end has no crank angle sensor and no knock sensor because of its year. i have tried everything and cant get it to run right and i cant get the check engine light off and because i use the jumper harness i cant read the codes. what sensors does the obd1 computer need to read. if im correct i dont need the crank angle or knock because its converted to obd1 is there any other sensors that it wont need to read because its converted or is there any extra sensors that it needs to read?

are you sure that the p28 is good? You should be able to use that distributor.

OBD 2 distributors are exactly the same as OBD1 distributors, the only difference is the connector. Either will work with your setup. A P28 with an OBD2-OBD1 adapter harness should work fine in your car. OBD1 does not use the CSf (crank fluctuation sensor) or the Knock sensor or the rear O2 sensor. You DO NOT have to add any sensors to an OBD2 car when you convert it to OBD1. You should actually have 2-4 leftover.

There is something else wrong with the car. Make sure the ECU and distributor are good. If so then you need to start checking all of the inputs to the ecu. Map Tps etc.

Also Make sure the "chip" you have is supposed to work with your engine setup.
