How to make my gsr be OBD1
I've use the search button with "obd2b to obd1" and i only found FS thread selling harness. I'm pretty sure someone asked the question before :
What do i need to convert my 2001 gsr from OBD2B to OBD1?
P28 or P72 OBD1? OBD1 distributor? OBD1 injectors and alternator?
If you know a thread talking about this, you can post it.
Thanks

I'm pretty sure you need a P28. As far as everything else I'm not sure because I'm actually going to do the same thing to my 2000 Gs-R and I need to learn how to do it also.

Ok, well I'm a noob also. I don't know if you need a P28 or not. The reason I said that is because I was talking to a guy that works on hondas/acuras for a living and he said that I would need a P28... but I'm not sure I guess I shouldn't have put that I'm pretty sure you need a P28... instead I should have put I think you need a P28 but I'm not sure. The guy I was talking to never said anything about a conversion harness or a P72 but I guess I'll look into it..... man thats the bad thing about honda tech sometimes is that people talk about **** they don't know what they are talking about haha.... I guess from now on I'll keep my mouth shut if I don't know for sure.

Yall are all Noobs!
I've said that many times, I'm sure if you knew what to search for then you would of found the answer.
If your car is anywhere from 00-01 then you will need an obd2b-obd1 ecu conversion harness with either a p72 ecu, chipped p72 or if you are no longer using the Stock GSR IM then any chipped/converted obd1 ecu will work just fine. You do not need to change anything else in the engine bay.
That's right it's that simple.
If your car is anywhere from 96-99 then you'll need an obd2a-obd1 ecu conversion harness along with the proper ecu. "What I stated above".
No need to change distributors or alternators or injectors blah blah blah

Re: How to make my gsr be OBD1
You just need a conversion harness and an obd1 ECU, nothing else.
You can't use P28 ECU on your GSR. P28 is from a 125hp engine and your engine is 170+hp. It won't run it correctly. It is common sense.
You either need an obd1 gsr ECU or a chipped ECU with a basemap from a reputable tuner or even better - a dyno tune.
Also, I hope you guys understand that there is absolutely no point in converting your car to obd1 unless it is heavily modded/fully built.
Just so you know, you will no be able to pass emissions in some states with an obd1 ECU in an obd2 car.

Since you are no longer using the GSR IM, any chipped and converted obd1 ecu would work. I chip/ convert obd1 ecu's as well.

Re: How to make my gsr be OBD1
Well personally on the ECU catagory JUN builds thee best. Me and my friend had the same builds body and model along with bolt ons, but the ECU. He rolled HONDATA, I dipped out with JUN. I'd pull him by like 2 cars with a launch control. Couple of hundred bucks is good on the long run.
