Ok, ive got a 93 civic hatch dx, automatic transmission
a couple of months ago, my speedometer started dropping, would only do it everynow and then, also the cel started coming on alot, now my speedo only works everynow and then. Now i think im sure that the cel only comes on because of the vss, because i checked the ECU and i got a code 17 (vss) everytime. Now i pulled out the vss , opened
it up, and it looked like the grease had dried up or corroaded, so i put a bunch of grease on it, i sprayed the wiring harness with some wd40 and pushed the wires in deeper. The Speedometer is still doing the same thing, havent seen a cel yet i guess cause it cleared itself. Ive tried tracing the wires from the harness but its so hard to trace. the manual from autozone says to trace it to the fuse box, but i cant find a fuse for it at all. A couple of days ago i pulled out the gauge panel and check the connections but they all seemed pretty good, i tried to trace the wiring the goes to the speedo, but i just cant get up and under there enough to see where it goes. since i checked the gauges i noticed that my the dash lights around the ac panel are gone, sometimes one side of it will come on. I went to autozone , and they said they cant even order a vss cause they dont have them in stock, even though they had a price of $99.
Should i just hunt down and replace the vss, or should i keep trying to find an electrical problem?

replace it and for the lights on the ac cluster myen went out liek that the bulps get old all my egs are like that i got a extra vss i am goign to texas tommorrow i can bring one to u or ship it let me know bro
