Is my tranny f*cked?
I just picked up a 92 cx from some guy for 3gz and it doesnt seem like he took care of the engine. the oil was dirt black, spark plugs were gapped like 2mm from worn out electrodes and tranny oil was straight black.
well, in first gear when i take it to 3K rpm and up, my tranny makes a loud whining noise, like metal rubbing. also does it real loud when i let off the gas. in second it is barely noticable from inside the car. is this noise from the gears or could it be the pilot bearing on the clutch which mechanics told me it might be?

damn i was hoping it was still okay because i was gonna drive it until i save up enough for my ls/vtec gsr tranny swap.
there is no way i can slap on a gsr tranny first is there?

Yes..Add tranny oil in there. use Semi-Synthetic...see what happens...
You wouldn't of gotten a lemon at Toyota of Orange.
