Check to see if the plug going to your speedo sensor came a little lose, you can reach it easy, it's located on the top of your tranny towards the back, try unplugging & reconecting. This happen to me twice, may not be your problem but worth a try.

Re: my speedo keeps cutting out!
Go to a parts store and get a chaging system test.
This can also happen when you are just running off the battery and your alternator has since spun it's last voltage. lol
Has happened to me and it was the issue.

I don't know bro. Just trying to give you a lil' insight.
I had the same problem at one point and the alt. was the issue.
Do yourself a favor and go get a free test.
If it's not the alt. at least you'll know you have a good alt.

If you aren't throwing a CEL for VSS the speedometer head in the cluster is most likely bad. Swap the speedometer head for your original DX one, they are identical (this also lets you retain your mileage.

Re: my speedo keeps cutting out!
ok this is a really really common problem with eg clusters....please dont waste your money on a vss there expensive and its not your problem...
the speedo is junk, if you still have your old cluster open it up and carefully remove the speedo without messing with the needle. remove the junk one from your si cluster and replace with the other one....i have done this to 7-8 of my freinds cars, i had it happen a few years ago, spent way to much money trying to fix it....figured out its the speedo itself...after some more searching it seems to be a common problem
