my rpm's are going crazy
Hey to my OBD1 folks, my 93 si with an LS is acting really weird, it has very little throttle response and when I can get it goin, the engine bogs out and the rpms are slow to climb, when they do climb the tach needle doesnt smoothly rise it gets really jumpy/twitchy....... any thoughts or ideas?

Re: my rpm's are going crazy
well your tach runs off your distributor, and loss of power and bogging out can also be caused by your distributor, i had a 94 hatch that pulled the same **** and i swapped the cap rotor and wires, and the problem went away.

That means a CEL code(s) is thrown. The next time the CEL turns on while driving, pull over and jump the service connector with the engine still running. This will ensure that you recover the code.

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that when I do get it going, I guess you can call it a sputter, it sputters and sends a putt through the exhaust, its not exactly like a backfire...
