congrats, i built my motor and swapped my car when I was 16. I gave you my opinion on building the bottom end, take it or leave it this is a public forum. but new bearings and check oil pump is at least what id do because the y7 and y8 have oiling problems that lead to a spun bearing quick.

check out d-series.org to research more when you do build the block, theres a ton of info there.

OP. Nice of you to actually care for the car as to your mom did not as you had stated, I had a Mini Me in my old 94 Coupe, spun a bearing in 2 days .. I had upgraded to a ZC Single Cam Vtec engine after that. Your engine build sounds nice, I have a friend with a Single Cam Vtec engine boosted on 10psi and is putting out around 240-250hp and around 180-190ft/lbs tq. I hope you get the engine and car to where you are wanting them, please be sure to keep us updated when you get the chances .

Does your buddies engine had any internal work? or is it bone stock with just boost?

I have a D15b7 and i am wanting to boost it up with a bolt on greddy.

Never use are your strength when bolting on sensors or bolts in an alluminum block, when putting on a sensor like this do it buy hand and just to the point where it stops without much effort. Also is you get a lont bit would be helpfull, better then using a wrench.

Nice job on getting it done man, props to you. I think most people's first build can be the most exciting and most scary all at the same time. Good job on the slide show video as well.

Learning the hard way while it sucks, is one of the most productive ways to learn IMO. It sucks in the sense that you have to fix whatever you broke as you found out but I have found that the mistake sticks in my head from then on and I don't make it again.

While you won't see a big HP difference with this build, it was still great to do as you will have a bit peppier engine and more important, you learned a lot of stuff that you can take with you. from me.

thanks for the positive imput unlike alot of people on these forums. i still have a small oil leak. well kinda large...enough that i should worry about it and not drive it because i dont want to burn it up. It is coming from the dizzy side of the head beween the dizzy and the valve cover. I just got back from Honda and got a new o-ring for the dizzy because i didnt change it wen i put the new head on and i thought it might be a problem so im going change it here in a second. ill keep everyone updated and post a video of it running soon!!!

well as i stated i still have an oil leak. new o-ring for the dizzy and a new valve cover gasket.

well. i need it fixed. is there a gasket between the cap that holds the cam and the head. if worst comes to worst i will pull of the rocker arms and the cam girdle and put a high heat sealant where it is leaking. would that be a bad idea?
