Default My LS/VTEC project.

OK everyone I would like your input. Note: If your reply dosent pertain to my question please do not reply.

My car is a '00 SI

Ive got a B18A1 w/ 70k & B16A2 w/72k

I plan on using the B16 head with the B18 shortblock.

My question is: if I use the B16 pistions I will maintain the 10.2:1 compression, but can I use the rods also even though it will change compression and what would the compression be. Will the LS crank and rod journal bearings all fit and still maintain minimum clearance. I am hoping to be able to use this simply because the cap bolts are bigger by 1mm. Which is great since I am maintaining VTEC. Obviously. I doubt it will work but I want your insight.

Also if you have any other suggestion please add them.

Thanks.

you can't you use ls rods w/ b16 crank, gsr rods w/ b16 etc etc. b16 rods, b16 crank. ls rods/ ls crank. but lsblock w/ b16 pistons and b16 head... compression in mid-low 11s check websites for a more accurate specs. i think cspeedracing has an easy calculator to use

Default Re: My LS/VTEC project. (dcb16)

I have decided what I am doing...

T3/T40E setup

B18A1 block

B16A2 head
.........3 angle valve job

Eagle rods & pistons (same length and compression as LS componets)
...............unless I get a bigger bore with the Darton sleeves...82mm.

Darton Sleeves (same inner diameter or 82mm)

LS Crank

Golden Eagle LS/VTEC kit

Golden Eagle Girdle kit

GSR Oil Pan

ITR Oil Pump Gear

I think thats about it...

Also I was thinking about getting the crank micropolished and cryo'd...What do you guys think.
