My distributor just siezed..options for repair or replacement?
Well I guess I am very lucky. My wife and I were in Gainesville, FL., which is about 1 1/2 hours away from home, when I began to hear a chattering noise under the hood. I pulled over and popped the hood and heard a loud "metal on metal" squealing noise coming from the distributor. Well, I decided that since the car was running fine, we would try to drive the 90 minutes home on the interstate and hope for the best. Surprisingly we made it without any problems, but my distributor was really close to exploding. LOL I removed the dizzy and couldnt even turn it with a pair of pliers, so its pretty much done for I think.
Do any of you guys have experience with rebuilt dizzys? I can get one from Advance auto parts for $190 or I can shell out close to $400 for a brand new Honda part. I would rather not blow 400 on a new dizzy, but I have no idea how well those rebuilt ones last.
I also read a thread on here not too long ago about someone replacing the bearings in their dizzy...would that be an option or is it just better to get a new or rebuilt one?
Thanks for you ideas\suggestions!

Down Since Day 1
Shouldnt be a problem using a rebuild, plus they usually come with a nice warranty with it to.
I just bought a used one from a junkyard, it lasted forever. So im guessing a rebuild will be better.
