Re: (Mendes)
All you need is some new boots, and some grease. Just do it yourself, it's easy!

Re: (speedracer2kjory)
It also depends how long your boots have been blown. If it has been a long time the axles arent gonna be the same even after you put new boots on. I had my axle changed and it cost me about a hundred bucks. Better safe then sorry.

Re: (hOnDadiCt)
just replaced my boot 3 days ago....it takes moderate skill(to do it correctly) but its a whole lot easier than than spending the 300 bones that a shop would charge. boot kit costs 15 i followed the autozone directions..no sweat

You're being sarcastic when you say 300 bones for a boot swap, right?
Or do you mean 300 pennies?
Just by looking at random Ads here in San Diego the highest price I've seen for a new boot + labor is $35.
WOW.

Yea 300 bucks is way to much, they were taking you for a major ride if you pay that.
If the motor is still a D series in the car then just take the axle and go down to your autozone, and get the life time warrenty and dont worry about weither you brake it or not cause you dont have to pay for it ever again
But if its a swap (B series) just take it to someone that can rebuild the axle, because autozone axles wont fit hybrid cars (atleast not mine anyway (GSR in EJ2). Its not hard to rebuild it yourself but its messy as hell. I had to rebuild mine and it was alot easier then i thought.

Re: (Mendes)
also, remember to take your used axle back to the place that you bought it..you usually can get some money back for taking them back the used axle..
