My civic doesn't go fast untill 2800 rpm
I have 2000 civic ex automatic with 26000 miles on it and i am having problem with it. When it change gear and when it goes to lower rpm acceleration really suck and as soon as it hit around 2800 rpm it goes fast. I don't know whats wrong with it is it vtec, transmition or torque.
Ya there is no power untill it reach to 2800 rpm and if i hit on gas more than it change gear . It seems like motor speed is slowing down at low rpm. It is not runing like civic should run because i drove my friends civic which is same like mine and he has no problem
please help me out here

No your car isn't in vtec at that low of rpm.

Yes, lack of.
Hondas are notorious for having no lowend power, and more so no torque at all. Welcome to owning an auto civic.
Ok on a different note, is this a new thing? Secondly, is it under warranty?

Your car isn't fast to begin with. To my understanding VTEC was made so that you can save gas and have power on the same engine. Under the VTEC engagement you are in economy mode and will save a lot of gas, going over you'll make more power but burn more fuel.
On an auto ex, save your money and don't mod it.

civic is econobox not a race car. also there was a post somewhere, a guy was running 18 sec 1/4mile with his auto civic with intake and exhaust.

Re: (88hondahatch)
my 99 hx makes no power. maybe it's a little more noticeable when it hits vtec. it's one of those cars that you have to have a really good running start to get it up a good size hill. haven't had to turn around yet.
