Default My civic does not accelerate good

My civic does not accelerate good if I am stop at traffic light and hit gas
hard to go fast than other people. Instead of going fast it becomes
slower than normal acceleration. It make noise like its not getting
enough air or gas. I don't know if thats the problem. After it goes to
3000 rpm it runs good.
My car is 2000 civic AUTO EX with low miles
please help me out here guys.

sounds like he's got more than just a normal weak honda to me.
your acceleration should be proportional to the throttle %

if giving it 100% makes you go slower than giving it say 80% then you defiantly have a problem.

Could be a number of things but i would first recommend a tune up!
new plugs
filters
oils
timing

good luck!

dont start off with 100% throttle, start slowly, like 60% then go up. it can cause you to bog for a bit

You shouldn't be one to talk. You're missing a comma and period.

Anyway, all that grammar **** is dumb. As long as you can understand the gist of what the poster writes, I don't see a problem. So back on topic ... the auto tranny doesn't help, and Civics are also notorious for no torque. My 5-speed EX is a dog if I don't rev the engine to at least 4500 rpm for each gear. If I don't, I get excellent gas mileage, but the people behind me start shuffling around to pass.

First thing I would do is give it a tune-up... plugs, wires, air filter, fuel filter, etc. Of course it is still a 1.6L auto, it isn't going to roast the tires on take-off or anything

man dont dog on the auto's, for those of us who have one-a car is a car. It being an automatic dosnet really matter. I just wish that we lived in a Honda Utopia where we were not looked upon and judged by the transmission of our car, but looked on as equals under a common symbol, , and then judged on the dedication , time, money, and effort that we put in those cars. Can't we all just get along?

My friend has the same problem.

first do a oil change

then cchange spark plug wires, and the spark plugs

then check is air filter is ok

if all of that dont work then check your timing, also look at your throttle to see if its messed up
