My 97 Civic DX build thread
Hey all, and welcome to my build thread for my 97 Civic DX.
I purchased this car for $1800 in early february, 5-speed, 129k miles.
Since my purchase, i have just done small things to the car :
- pioneer cd player
- 99-00 NEW oem tail lights
- 99-00 NEW oem rear bumper
- 99-00 NEW oem front bumper
When i first got it.

Re: My 97 Civic DX build thread
Thanks acuronda.
Ruben - I have no idea to be honest, but i think it is as i have never seen a coupe with the polished grill edges ? Maybe it was hehe.
And the steering isn't as bad as i thought it would be for no power steering, it's quite smooth.

Bought the 99-00 fenders today.
Sucky rainy weather screwed it up so hopefully tomorrow i will put them on.
Next up is the 99-00 hood.

Re: My 97 Civic DX build thread
Hell no, it is unbelieveable how easy it is to work on these cars.
Anyhow, today i bought the new 99-00 hood and semi-installed it, have to re-align it with 2 friends holding the hood while i screw it on again.
Next up is the grill and after i receive it i will bolt up the front bumper at once as well as finish modifying the little rad support tabs where the old front bumper top tabs use to hold.

Everything installed and aligned.
Now question, is it me, or are the radiator supports slightly different on 99-00 civics ? I see a gap between the front bumper and hood where the pop on pins go..?

Very clean sedan -___-.
So i am stuck waiting for thursday to get paid to order the type-r grill and headlights which are both next. Hopefully if i have enough, some hid's too to finish off at last the front end of the conversion.
Will bring up more updates nonetheless this week along with pics.

Nice coupe, keep working on it and get your buddies involved you'll see how much easier it is.
I dropped a B16 in my old EK a few years back in no time with some friends, beer and pizza.

Re: My 97 Civic DX build thread
Thanks guys.
Rey i absolutely agree with you man, anything is possible to do on these cars with unbelieveable ease, lol i love it.
Coming from a world of turbocharged eclipses, it's so difficult to work on them, have to take off a million things just to get to one thing, this car so far requires no brains to do work on it lol.

Re: My 97 Civic DX build thread
Guys i need your help ! In my post above, post #10, do you guys see that gap between the hood and front bumper ? Where the side parts meet ? Look at post #1 now, the old 96-98 hood and bumper seem to have that same gap... You guys think maybe my rad support had been crashed in and that's why my front bumper won't line up flush with the hood and therefore also be the cause of the front bumper being a little "in" ?
I don't mind changing the support it's <$50 with taxes and all.
Need quick advice !
