Whole motor would be nicer. Don't forget the ECU

Its the brains of the car. It runs the engine. Every engine needs a different one (every trim)

even if it didn't come stock they're still pretty reliable, they're still cheap to fix, and that's still a pretty good price

In reality it doesn't matter what you do with it..it's the same block, so u can swap the head or swap the whole engine... Then u have to buy the P28 ECU that's v-tec ready and POSSIBLY ODB-0 to ODB-1 (what year car do u have?), not sure what kinda harness the D16Y7 would have O.o - u can find out by somebody that knows hte specs better on HT whether u need a conversion harness or not..

Aight, here's what I would do, I'd take the whole engine into my..wherever, garage, basement, wood pallette in front of ur house, dismantle the entire thing from valve cover to piston bearigns) clean all the god knows how much of sludge, carbon, and crap that's built up on the engine, put taht **** back together, adn u'll have a basically overhauled D16Y8, VTEC and ready to go with the P28 ECU -- Yeah some of the parts like pistons might be warn and I wouldn't change the internals if I was in your position, but just to clean everything out before u drop it in would be good for it... While u have it apart u spend some money on important gaskets (valve cover, head, IM, TB, EM), replace the gaskets while u have the whole thing dismantled, this way it'll run strong + have a lot of life left in it..

Like I said, this won't say anything about the internals being worn down from 130k miles on the engine...but it'll be really nice for the engine, trust me, did it a few times

Just what I would do, good luck whichever path u choose
