im working on nthe same thing.... i think im gonna go with a d16 and turbo it... cheaper.. and i dont need much over 200hp so ill be fine with a dseries

waste of time if ur gunna go with an all motor d series
in all reality if your on a tight budget buy suspension parts 1st, that way your car will handle like an elise but with less HP. then when you scrape up the cash get an h22

I had a d16 tubro in hatch.. built with pistons rods etc. no sleeves.. and then i switched to the y8 bottom end and was very impressed.. my tourqe numbers were alot better and its just a niceer set up for some reason.. i say y8 block and the z6 head and a nice turbo kit put 250 the the wheels and go with it.. Turbo the D. Probably what I'll end up doing also. Had an h23 turbo before and loved it, but got a wife and kid now and they won't let me spend much cash on the g-ride.
