MOMO Steering Wheel
I can get a good deal on a Momo Wheel, 350mm. But I have a few questions. Is 350mm a good size for a 00 civic? How hard is the install, Im guessign you have to take out the airbag etc? Is it that bad not to have an air bag?

I think it ***** with your insurance since you would purposefully be defeating a safety system. They might not cover you if you get into an accident where you are injured. It didn't stop me from doing it, but then again, that car isn't daily driven anymore either. Weigh the coolness against the safety value.

I agree completely. I gave up my airbag for a steering wheel, but I don't recommend it. There's the insurance factor, the legal factor, and the accident factor. Might not be worth it.
But if you decide to be a dumbass like me, it's not that hard to remove the airbag. 350mm is average, a lot of people use that size wheel, I used to as well, but moved down to a 330mm and like it much better.

Hmm, Never thought about it from that standpoint. Im trying to figure out how much safer an air bag really is. Im strapt in at all times, and Ive herd air bags in some cases can screw you over.

i did the same thing, but also paired the steering wheel with a racing seat/5 point harness. If you don't have these, don't install the wheel. Hitting your head on a hard metal wheel while snapping your shoulder in half is for the birds.
if your just getting it for looks.. well.. enjoy the er.

Really comes down to what you're willing to sacrifice. For some, the airbag is not something they want to keep, because of past experiences with them, for others, it's a standard of safety for their car, so they'd rather not mess with it.

But 5 points aren't very safe for street cars when they roll. If they hold you upright and the roof or windshield comes in on you, you are fucked. But with a standard OEM restraint, you can move your shoulders and upper torso around. Unless you have a full cage, I think that 5 points are a bad idea for the street. I mean I like them and all, but there is a risk with them as well.
