Moisture Getting Into Belt -> Whiny Sound = (
hey i have a 96 honda civic ex coupe and ever since i've bought the car it's always made this whiny sound for the first couple minutes whenever the weather is "wet" (foggy, early in the morning, rainy, etc.) i've asked people about it and everybody has just told me that it's making that sound because moisture is getting into the belt and not to worry about it. well, i'm glad that it's not a big problem, but i would still like to do something to prevent it if possible because i'm getting tired of hearing that sound. do you guys have any suggestions? thx in advance. = D

This is moisture and this happens because the car has not been running for some time. Same thing happened to mine. First couple minutes it would whine from the ac belt, but after a few weeks of driving it went away. Belt was on nice and tight (just right)
