Modifying OEM fogs to turn on with parking lights
I tried searching but had no luck. I've had several people tell me from other boards that there is a How-To on here showing how to modify the OEM fog harness so you can turn them on with just parking lights?
Anyone know of this or were they just talking? I'd like to do it but don't want to risk screwing up my harness or melting any wires, etc.
Also, is there a way to have the OEM fogs stay on with high beams as well?

How you do this will depend on what year your car is. I believe you have a 6th gen, but the wiring is different from the '96-'98s than from the '99-'00s.
I know at least on the '96-'98s the only change you need to do is in the interior harness. Say you have aftermarket foglights (which all pretty much work the same basic way). Change out the aftermarket switch and interior harness for an OEM switch and harness and they'll work like OEM.
OEM foglights turn on with the headlights (as long as the foglight button is turned to ON). When the highbeams are turned on the foglights go off.
Aftermarket foglights can be wired to be independant from the other exterior lights. They can also be wired to turn on with the parking lights (as long as the foglight button is turned to ON). That way will keep them on with the headlights too.
I personally think the OEM setup with the legal wiring is nicer. You don't usually need your foglights on if you have your highbeams on anyway.

I don't mind the OEM setup with the "legal wiring". But I've always wanted to be able to turn on my fog lights with parking lights but wanted the OEM quality factor so went with OEM fogs.
I'm thinking about just buying cheap $20-$30 fog lights from Walmart and wiring those up so I can use those with parking lights/high beams and also with low beams. Just for when it's REALLY shitty out or when I'm parked and use the headlights to see and hang out (like in the park).

I found em:

http://www.jimmmmmmmah.com/Ins...s.htm
^^ That one is the same as the first one but with pics.
Now I understand that you have to change out the taillight fuse to a 10A one but where is the instrument/cluster one? People were saying that their instrument/cluster lights stopped working after a while since the fuse blew. I'll probably just turn off the fog lights before arming my car so I won't have to worry about powering up the fog lights and most likely blowing a fuse.
Another question - the instructions are kind of vague when it comes to the actual DIY of it. Where you have to take some wires off of the harness and such and swap them around. Anyone have more detailed instructions?
edit - Nevermind I got it working . Works with parking lights and highbeams.
