YOu can't wire the vtec to your oem computer because it doesn't know about vtec. There's a lot more to the head swap than just putting the head on.

Buying the ecu is cheaper than buying a VTEC controller. And if you use the y7 ecu your car will run lean and the air/fuel maps will be all messed up. And you can't use a VTEC controller to enable VTEC. You need an RPM switch to do that or use a switch connected to the solenoid to give it power when you need it, but those ways suck and do not do it.

not trying to argue here but ive seen it done on an accord... if he had an rpm switch im unaware of... all i know is he had a vafc and the stock ecu... he swapped on the vtec head and it worked... i know the ecu itself is cheaper in price... i meant the quality of the work is cheap... should have rephrased that
