some people are telling me that when i put a d16 vtec head on my d15b7 block its called a mini-me what is it and is it buildable?

it is when you put either a z6 or a y8 head on your d15 block. and yes it is buildable. i see that you're a noobie to honda-tech so ill be the first to tell you that the search button is your best key on here. this topic has been covered many times already....

not a newbie to honda-tech i just like to ask alot of questions, better referece. im more into dual cams i know more than the average ricer on those just never really been a fan of single cams but i figured id try it

Yeah you're right. You are not a noob since as of today you have been a trial user for 1 day and have 2 posts. They are just trying to tell you that reading will get you more info in many cases than posting since most people in this forum don't care about sohc swapping/building. You as an aficionado of the dohc should know the benefits over a sohc and realize that a mini-me project is a more or less a waste of resources.

my firend did a mini me..it's like a smaller version of ls/vtec..hence the name mini me .it was semi successful...i mean he said his car pulls much harder..but he's never really pushed it..and he also doesn't have vtec unless he turned this lil switch on..it's kinda funny..but yea..it's doable..it's not too expensive either..just need new head and vavle cover gaskets and if u can get ur hands on a sohc vtec head..my friend got his for like 80bux or somethin..

and dont underestimate the sohc vtec..i've heard some stories about them

not woth it. for the cost, i estimated no more than 5 bills. excluding wash, and knick knacks, ie. gaskets. you gain high end...
