mini me
I have heard something about mini me swap.
Can I make my d13b2 a Vtec engine with the mini me swap?
im not sure what exactly it is. But I heard its easyer and cheaper then a complete engine swap.
If yes please let me know where I can find more info.

not real sure about the D13. Never heard of it here in the states. Where are you from?
A mini me swap is essentially taking a non-VTEC SOHC block and mounting a VTEC SOHC head to it. It's not really hard and pretty inexpensive.

Re: mini me (DSeriesBKilla)
Hey sorry for my late reply.
I'm from Amsterdam. I have my civic 94 1.3 16v nicely styled. Only thing left is that darn engine. 1.3 is just too slow only good for getting grocery's lol. How easy is it to spice my engine up? What would you recommend?? The 1.3 is same as the 1.5non v-tec models. Kabling wires suspension etc are all the same. Is the easyest to get a 1.5 engine block put it in and then tune that engine? or is it easyer to go for even heavyer block?

Most people on HT won't be familiar w/ that engine, as the smallest displacement motor we got was a 1.5l. Sorry, but i have no idea if a mini-me is possible for you.

Just outta curiousity: have any idea on the stock numbers/specs on that D13, as far as HP and torque, as well as bore, stroke, **** like that? LOL just curious on how that small of an engine without VTEC performs

Re: mini me (ro8in)
i just got my car back last week with a mini me swap...i ran great... but i used the stock DX 1.6 non vtec block... never heard of a 1.3... i eard that even if it was a 1.5 it wasn't worth the swap, because of the shorter strocks...

If I were you I'd just go for a D16 vtec swap if you can't afford a b series. A sohc vtec motor can be had for a few hundred bucks and installation is easy, there are at on of writeups around the internet if you need help.

Re: mini me (Justin_Bradley)
Lol the engine is actually not that bad for a 1.3 hehehe, Ok my grandmother goes faster in her Opel Corsa but still.....
the 1.3 does about 70hp
goes from 0 to 60 mph in 11 seconds
and has a maximum speed of 120 mph (if I calculated correctly we use kilometers here)
I know that in America gas is very cheap but here in europe we pay almost triple per gallon. Which is why many people here prefer smaller engines, just due te cost of gas. Many people go bankrupt here for driving a car lol.
We pay 5,30 dollar per gallon. and that i'm serious. The connections from Bush with Bin Laden are good for something at least lol
