Metal shavings on transmission plug (searched)
I just changed my tranny fluid and the magnetic drain plug had metal shavings on it. I just recently had a new clutch and flywheel installed so im thinking its just the new clutch and its ok. Has anyone else had this problem.

no you are WRONG it is not the clutch wearing down. the clutch has nothing to do with metal shavings in your tranny. its natural to have metal on the drain plug but not much.
the cluch and flywheel is in between the tranny and motor having no contact with the interior of the tranny or motor

THINK about this one for a second here. Just think. Don't resort to other peoples answers for everything, use your brain.
When you fill your transmission with oil, do you pull your start off and just dump oil on your clutch? No.
What's inside a FWD transmission? Hmm.... Gears, bearings, synchros, synchro sleeves. differential....
Synchros are made of brass, brass does not stick to magnets.
What causes metal shavings. Hmm.

only the baulk rings are made out of brass.
Shavings are always normal, but not that much, also if they are abnormally large shavings that is not good. Most common shavings are the shavings from the reverse gears since it does have an idler gear that slides into place, it likes to grind a bit. How many K on the transmission?

Re: (ek_chris)
Its good unless theres a lot or they are big. A good way to tell if you have a large problem is to listen to your tranny, if it wines really loud then you might have a problem.
