Melted my ground vtec solenoid wire??????????
Well, I kept pulling a 41 code, so I wired up the 3 wires directly to the ecu, with the exception of the green wire, which was suppose to be a ground.
After grounding it, I still got the code, so I wired it up to the green white map sensor like indicated.
I connected only one map sensor and disconnnected the other map sensor.
The car kept cranking over and over, until i saw smoke and stopped LOL.
so going through the entire harness, WHAT A MESS, I saw that my ground for the vtec solenoid melted.
Anyways, I'm just curious what happened,
pics to come

If you can see the copper, thats the wire i melted, and it connected right to the vtec solenoid.
While it melted, one of my map sensors, the firewall one was unplugged and i had my green o2 sensor wire connected to the green/white wire which is the wire in the middle of the map sensor.
Here is proof that i have 2 map sensors
the map sensor on the firewall is wired in the main harness around the shock tower

Re: Melted my ground vtec solenoid wire?????????? (MugenHonda)
what is that second Map on the firewall doing??? It is supposed to measure Manifold Absolute Pressure? I dont see anything(vaccum line, etc) connected to that Map sensor. Was this car ever turboed because I always thought that you only had one MAP sensor. MAybe I read your post wrong or something. If you trace the wires to the ECU do they connect at the same location as the other Map sensor. If it does then chop it off leavign some wire incase you need to reconnect it for some reason. But if there are two of these then removing one should solve your problem.

well, when i disconnect one of the map sensors, the car runs funny.
When both of them are connected, the car idles fine.
what would you think>
