this may be a stupid question but..
i searched and found nothin. anyway to the point, i have a aem cai for my stock engine, will i have to get another 1 to fit a itr engine when i drop the engine in?? i just wanna be 100% sure....
btw i have a 00 cx hatchy

Yes, unless you mod it to fit. I had the same cold-air as you and when I got the motor I had to cut in like to places to make it fit. Still running it cold-air but the piping is kinda small and I think its restriting me.

you buy the intake for the chasis not the motor. The one you have should be fine and might require a little modding to work.

Well, correct me if I'm wrong, but the piping for your CX is probably 2.5". The ITR is 3". How much of a difference does that make? I don't have a clue...

Yea, but us d16y7 fool have the intake manifold the goes from the top , not the side like the rest of them.

yea just thought about that so I came back to correct my self I had a D16Y8 so it was the same as an ITR on me

I'm sure you can probably hack at yours or add a 45 to make it fit if you don't feel like buying another one.
I did a pretty good job of totally rerouting my GSR AEM CAI and I'm an idiot.

Yep...get the ITR one...ive got one on my y8 in a hatch! It wont go through the hole that the....nevermind....cx...it doenst go through the hole anyways... So get the 3 inch ITR CAI! Ive got one and love it!
