Master Cylinder Question
I had my master cylinder and brake booster replaced. My front brakes locked up after. I have new pads, rotors, calipers and hoses. So I started working my way up to see where the brake fluid was stopped at and it wasn't coming out of the master cylinders hole closest to the brake booster. I had it warrantied out and the same thing is happening.
MC was bench bled, and vehicle was bled after the job was done. Why is this happening?
Its a 93 del sol

Re: Master Cylinder Question
I'm not to sure what that is but i was told it didn't need to be adjusted.
If it helps, i have to push the brake pedal all the way down just for the brakes to even engage and it wont stop the car.

And is adjusting pedal free play the same as adjusting the push rod. I'm referencing the link below.

Re: Master Cylinder Question
Iv'e bled and bled and bled. It never reaches the front calipers.
My free pedal play is at about 15mm. Should be 1-5mm. Will that cause it?

Re: Master Cylinder Question
I ment through the front bleeder screw. If fluid never hits that wheel, does that cause it to lock up?
My bleed sequence is rear right, front left, rear left, front right.

Re: Master Cylinder Question
Oh yes, i thought you were correcting me or something..
Either there is a ton of air in the system or something else is wrong. Once i saw it wasn't bleeding in the front, I un bolted the hose and tried to bleed it from there and worked my way to the prop valve, no fluid was reaching there. I then un did the hard line on the MC and no fluid was coming so i bled it on the car(i did bench bleed it) and finally fluid came out.

Re: Master Cylinder Question
Yes. Then I drove it and they locked up. I stopped and the MC wasn't pushing fluid again. So is there just a lot of air in the system or what. I just warantied the MC 2 days ago.

Re: Master Cylinder Question
Sounds like the issue that guys run into with an ABS booster and a non-ABS master cylinder, or...it sounds like the the boosted pushrod isn't fully releasing the piston in the M/C which is a setup issue. Honda makes an SST, or Specialty Service Tool, that gets installed between the M/C and the Booster to help dial in the pushrod.
