Default master cylinder and Proportioning valve?

I did a rear disc conversion on my 94 DX and i have not changed out the MC or PV. I read people putting on different mc and pv, but not sure which ones to use.
Why do you need to chnage the MC? Which MCs are direct bolt ons ( i believe the rs is, but i was wondering if their are any others)? lastly which pv is the best to use? Thanks for any help.

Any master cylinder with the matching brake booster from a 1994-2001 Integra would work, preferably a non-abs unit like ones out of a RS . You can go with a Type-R 1 inch master cylinder as well. A 1991 Civic 4-door Ex master cylinder bolts right up to your stock brake booster (cheaper and easier to install in my opinion). Both the RS and the 91 Civic EX are both 15/16 in diameter which is good for the street unless your going to track your Civic, a 1-inch would be better. A 4040 PV is ideal, I do believe your Civic has a 4030 PV so I would recommend changing that as well. Hope this helps. I you have any questions, there's a huge thread about this in this forum, but I hope I pointed you in the right direction. Late

P.S: I'm personally using a Integra RS brake booster and Master Cylinder Combo with a 4040 PV and works beautifully on my 1992 Civic Dx Hatchback.

if you didn't change the fronts you might not need a very big MC. the bigger the MC the more fluid it can push out, and thus can handle larger calipers. your dx has a 13/16" mc. you can upgrade to a 7/8", 15/16" or a 1". but if you haven't upgraded your fronts also you'll barely need much of an upgrade. maybe just get the 15/16" so that in the future you have room to spare.

the 96-00 dx models came stock with a 4040 prop valve. i thought this was true with 92-95 dx models but i could be wrong. you do want a 4040 so if you can't verify that your stock one is then i would swap it.

I just finished a rear disk swap on my civic. I'm running a 97 dx with 10.3" fronts and ITR calipers, and full GSR rears with a 1" GSR MC and booster. feels great!

i probably should have mentioned that i did upgrade my fronts to the wilwood bbk. Going from wat i hear i should probably get something like a 15/16" or maybe the 1". Thanks alot for the help. i will be doing this soon so i will let you know how it goes.
