Default Maintance Required???

Well i noticed on the drive home today in my 1998 Honda Civic EX (D16Y8) that the Maintance Required "light" was on (not the Check Engine!) Well when I got home, i turned off my lights, and they light disappeared, but when i turned them on the "light" was on...

Is this a problem... or is it just showing because of the lights in my dash?

(P.S. Ive never noticed this before and ive had the car since April 04)

Are you talking about that lil light next to the lil keyhole? If so its green, yellow means getting close, and red means do it NOW! lol

Its always on, maybe its because it was dark and its hard to see in the light? Just push your key in there and it will go back to green. Its a mileage thing. If you look in your manual(the one that came with the car) it tells you when it will turn to red. Once it hits a certain mileage it comes on. Soooo if you have done all the maintence you could reset it.
