Re: Magnaflow muffler
I went to a local muffler shop and the guy recommended this Universal Magnaflow muffler, so i went with it. Dont think it has an exact name, it said Universal Magnaflow on the box in the shop.

Re: Magnaflow muffler
Also, will this muffler become louder after a few days and will removing a resonator make it MUCH louder or how will it sound like?

Re: Magnaflow muffler
ehhhh then i wont take off the resonator, i think the muffler just has to settle in for a few more days/weeks then it might change its tone a bit, maybe become a bit deeper or somethin?

Re: Magnaflow muffler
The muffler is a 11225 Magnaflow muffler 2.25" in/out.
Unfortunately i got kinda ripped off because the muffler is $70 online and to install it at the shop is $75, but the guy told me if i buy it there and install it, it would be $200, fak.

Re: Magnaflow muffler
Go back to the shop and tell them that the car doesn't run well with this muffler (actually you don't like the sound).
Then try this one:

Tell them to get you Magnaflow 14816 muffler or put back your original muffler. But this one is online b/w $170-200.
Then buy the exhaust online and go to another shop.
Just a suggestion.

Re: Magnaflow muffler
nah im sticking with this muffler, even though i was a bit ripped off, **** happens.
i cant afford to go back and get stuff rewelded and do all that stuff over again, im sticking with this, it sounds perfect for now, im just wondering if the sound will change in a few days/weeks when it breaks in a bit

Re: Magnaflow muffler
no it won't. why would it decide to change sound?
i know it takes my hi flow cat about 10 15 to warm up. it's really irritating til then.

Re: Magnaflow muffler
A lot of your older mufflers, glass packs, would change sounds with age. Ones made with this same process still will. I'm guessing more than likely it's a chambered muffler, so no it won't change with age.
FYI, running I'm running a mgnaflow muffler and resonator. Someone previously removed my cat and it's very raspy around 2800-3300rpm

Re: Magnaflow muffler
magnaflows are straight through mufflers with packing in them, almost like a full-bodied glasspack, it should get louder after awhile, the magnaflows on my monte carlo did
