Magnaflow Exhaust for Del Sol?

Re: Magnaflow Exhaust for Del Sol?
I want it to be somewhat loud, but not obnoxious. And I don't want something that sounds annoying, I want it to sound deep - much like the Magnaflow system.
Up to $300.00.

Re: Magnaflow Exhaust for Del Sol?
Okay...Just did this today, and most will say it is "ricer" but is definitely awesome to me.
This is my setup:
B20Z Del Sol
PLM Tri-Y Hytech Rep Header (Standard Tube)
Magnaflow High Flow Metallic Spun Cat
Ebay 2.25 inch cat-back exhaust system
Replaced LOUD Can Muffler with magnaflow 4x9x14 2.25 in/out muffler.
With the N1 Ebay muffler that came with the catback (there is a resonator on the pipe as well, No name and about 14 inches long) it was "okay" cruising, but if you put down any bit of throttle you could forget about having any sort of conversation inside the car. Plus I looked like an idiot trying to take off from a stop light...lots of noise without any speed.
With the magnaflow muffler, the exhaust is extremely quiet. It is almost stock sound levels with a nice, very mellow tone to it. And giving the engine more throttle just gives you a nice exhaust note that is not intrusive.
Just my setup that I am extremely happy with, so I thought I would pass it on.
Also, I did my research before picking the magnaflow muffler. I compare it to the dynomax line of mufflers (VT, ultra flo, and Super Turbo). I chose the magnaflow due to lower pricing than the ultra flo. The VT has some rumored issues of the internal valve making a ticking sounds as well as the spring falling off inside. Finally, for my B20, I roughly estimated that the Super Turbo 2.25 in/out muffler would not provide enough exhaust flow, causing a possible loss in power.
The way I look at it...I don't want to spend money on a performance muffler that is going to lose me power in the end.

Re: Magnaflow Exhaust for Del Sol?
Cost for the whole thing too:
Header: 300
Cat: 150 installed
Catback: 120
Magnaflow Muffler: 110 installed
So, assuming you use your own exhaust manifold/header and cat. You are looking at ~$230 for the catback (installed by you) and magnaflow muffler (welded in by a shop). That is within you $300 budget.
BTW, Magnaflow does not make a full system for our cars. Skunk2, Apexi, and I belive Tanabe (maybe spoon or mugen too) make systems that I have found, but they cost around $600-700. Its up to you. Do what makes you the happiest!
