Default lube or wd40 on wheel studs? good or bad

Is it good to put wd40 or some other kind of lube/grease on wheel studs when tightening the lugs back on? I heard its good but also heard its bad? Should I just brush them off to clean the studs or lube them up? Thanks

Brushing them off is good. Lubing them... I don't think so. Just make it a practice of using a torque wrench when tightening them, 80lb/ft is normal.
