LS Vtec question
I have an b18b engine in my car right now. The other day I bought a SOHC vtec head. How do I put this on my car so that I can have vtec? I think I have to tap something but what good is that going to do? I just want to be able to hear that groWLLLLLLLLLL when it kicks in. THen maybe this town will know that my car is fast. Oh yeah, i dont know if this helps but the head came off a vx civic. Thanks for all your help.

I could be mistaken, but i don't think a SOHC head will work on a b-series engine... if so, good for u.... However, a VX head is technically a VTEC-E head, not your standard VTEC head... it's made for fuel economy, not power... i have a VX, trust me... it's DEFINITELY not made for power. Stick with your stock head and add a turbo if u want people to "hear' the speed of your car. If you really want to go LS/VTEC, save up for a b16a/b18c head... Don't go cheap, it will only cause problems later on, especially with the frankenstein motor.

Re: (jonesin4abeer)
If you would really like to have a Ls/Vtec you will have to buy a B-series head of some sort and it is alot more than just bolting it on.
Dont do it unless you know what you are doing and I hate to sound mean but it doesnt sound so promising.

No a SOHC VTEC head won't work on your LS block.
