Re: LS VTEC HELP!
How did you know what parts to buy? Just curious. Did you have a plan for what you were supposed to do after you got the swap?
Here's a link to Google search for LS/VTEC swap information.

Hope you figure it out.

Re: LS VTEC HELP!
You didn't really give us any info to go off. Search the forum. Thre are so many combinations of ls/v. And if you are thinking of using the stock ecu on your built motor, don't. If you had done even the smallest bit of research on the ls/v you would have read this. And probably the solution to your wiring problem.
Good luck getting that thing going. When built right that motor can be a beast.

Re: LS VTEC HELP!
Please elaborate when you say "fully built". If you have anything over stock cams, you will need a tune. Do not run a p2t on aftermarket cams, or drastically raised C/R, you will end your motor quick, it WILL need a tune(cant tune a p2t).
Get a p28 and an obd2 to obd1 conversion harness so you can tune.
Motor specs or bust

My friend said it had either b16 or type r internals
Block is brand new
1999 Type R pr3-3 Head, Type R and Crower Internals
AEM Cam gears, Greddy Timing belt, 270cc RC Injectors
Eagle Kit for conversion
2001 GSR Tranny, ACT stage 2 clutch,
Other little things

Re: LS VTEC HELP!
Because its not a stock motor. Seems kind of obvious to me. DO MORE RESEARCH. You are beating a dead horse. The fact you upgraded the injectors is reason enough for a tune. Wiring vtec is so easy a caveman could to it. There pinout diagrams all over.
And by end your motor he means engine failure/engine go bye bye. My friend is building a similar ls/v and wants to cut corners but I finally convinced him to leave the motor out till he can afford a tune. As soon as you start it you need to run it hard, you can't do that with a bad tune.

Re: LS VTEC HELP!
Your like a friend I have, who is "building" an ls/v as well. You keep asking the same thing waiting for someone to tell you what you want to hear. You cant break in a new motor putting around the street. Tuning will be very expensive, you should have though of this before you built the motor. So go ahead, use your ecu, but make sure you start a new thread when the motor dies. Ill use you as an example for my buddy.
