Default LS/VTEC conversion from B16A

Hi all,

I did some searches and was surprised to find that there aren't any topics relating to this.

I have JDM B16A (EG6) and 1.8L is what I want. Engine swap is too costly...

Ok, what I wanna know is what do I need to do?

(1) Oil return to sump for VTEC solenoid/head
(2) Do I retain my 10.4:1 pistons? What compression does that yield?

Is the rest just plug-n-play?

Also, what's the deal with oil squirters; B16A doesn't have any right? And neither do B18A/B? Do I need them for LS/VTEC? Where do I get 'em from??

Thanks all...

Default Re: LS/VTEC conversion from B16A (ckkl)

TTT

Just to clarify: I have a B16A motor already in my car (therefore don't need any transmission, header, ecu, etc)

What do I need? Swap the pistons into the LS and that's it? How important is balancing the crank? Any diff between B18A/B blocks?

Thanks...
