Default ls vtec conversion for $1350 a good deal?

ls vtec conversion for $1350 a good deal?

-2000 60k LS block complete internals, crank, rods, pistions etc.
-eagle vtec conversion
-their labor and labor to swap my b16 head and b16 tranny etc.
- plus extras from b18 (complete head w/ intake manifold) not in use!

good bad deal?

sweeeet...... ls/vtec swap done! super fast and strong, i love it! just about over 4500rpm vtec hits! with the ls/vtec with b16 tranny you think 3300rpms at 60mph sounds right? and 3800 at 70mph?

I also wouldn't do an LS/VTEC without upgrading rod bolts

That is an insanely good deal. Actually it is so good that I'd be suspicious.

Do they provide the head and tranny as well? If so then jump on it, if not then thats to much for labor only.

the deal is i was running a b16 in my ek, from the b16 head, block, and tranny etc. Until i ran my car hard and seezed the rod bearings, rods, and the crank! i took it back to the shop whom installed the swap and said they have an 2000 LS b18 motor sitting in the back, and they would do the swap for $1350, i just buy the b18 complete motor from them and use the block only and buy the eagle vtec conversion and cover the cost of labor.

so i would use the exhisting b16 tranny and head from my ek!

so they're basically gonna be slapping on your B16 head on a B18 block, and using your tranny? sounds like alot to me.

If you're not comfortable doing the work yourself and the shop guarentee's the work it's a good deal. It is a pain pulling a motor, doing the conversion, then putting it back in. Takes around a full day with 2 people. Quicker if they have a lift and power tools of course.

well if you think about it, it's a little cheaper than rebuilding the bottom end of his b16, which he would have to do. instead they offered to sell him a complete b18 and assemble it instead of tearing apart his motor and rebuilding.

for him buying the b18b, they would just have to slap on the head and eagle conversion.

very good deal by the way...
