Default ls vtec breaking up real bad, need help please

Hey whats up h-t, I have a buddy with a ls vtec set up the car has skunk 2 cams intake manifold type r header, the problem is that when he gets on it it breaks up real bad and some times even stalls, but it will idle and run good with little to no load on the motor, the injector was leaking real bad and I though that was it but no good, it allmost feels like fuel cut but it stalls so I dont think it is that, if any body has any info it would be greatly appreciated, and I also what is a p30 ecu is it a vtec ecu?

p30 is a JDM b16 ECU, if that is the ECU he is using then he needs to ditch it and get a chippable ECU so the car can be tuned, that may be the problem right there. It does sound like a fuel problem, pull the plugs and see if they are black. if they are check the fuel pressure regulator, more than likely the problem is it just needs tuned.

going to the shop now to check it out, I know that the plug wires are full of oil, and I am gonna clean them out, but the car stalls after you get on it s I don't think that the oil in the plug wires is the problem, I will let you guys know but please keep the info coming.

wow nobody has any input, anyway I took it to the shop today and checked all the grounds and cleaned them all up, the valve cover gasket was leaking down into the plug tubes and filling the wires up with oil, I cleaned them all up and just went over all the wiring, nothing out of the ordinary. so I took the car out and it drove good for the first couple of pulls and then started doing it again just breaking up real bad, it seems like it does it more as the car warms up.

could be the ignitor module. They do that when they get warm. If you have one, try another dizzy. I also had another car that did that and it ended up being a head-gasket. GL.

Dude I had the same problem in my crx. It would run fine but when I got on it, it would sputter then stall. Sometimes it wouldent start either, so I checked my plugs they were all filled with oil. I changed the plugs, wires, and dizzy still same **** happening. Then I changed head gasket and cable cover gasket cuz those were leaking thought that might have been the problem... still same ****. So I moved on to fuel system, changed my fuel pump, took like two seconds cuz it was gutted and pump was right there. Still same problem. I was starting to ****in get mad now so I took it to my dads friends shop they looked it over, and some kid working there had the same problem in his car, did all the samethings I did. He found out it was the fuel pump relay he told me I changed it and the car ****in ran mint. In the long run I'm happy I did all that work so I didn't have to do it later but wish I found out it was the $5 pump relay before I spent like $700 bucks on ****. Hope this helped you out.

Just for the record, the op posted his query at 10:48pm on 30.05.2009 and had the proper answer the following day at 6:17pm...

That's less than 24hrs and someone posted the proper fix... I wouldn't call that pulling teeth.

I'm glad you got your buddies car up and running, now let's all go to pat's king of steaks and have a wiz wit.
