ls swap question
If i was to put put a 91 ls in a 92-95 civic what would be involved the wiring. and would it be worth it? I only paid 500 dollars for the whole swap, and it came with aftermarket cam gears, header and intake, its got around 90,000 miles on it.

Re: ls swap question (dsrconcepts)
edited his post about 92-95 being obd2
first off your 92-95 hatch back is a obd1 not obd2,that ls motor has a cable transmission? cause if it does that wont work because your car is hydro,so you would need to locate a b series hydro tranny for this engine....

Re: ls swap question (dsrconcepts)
your car is 92-95 civic ,it uses a hydrolic transmission system, the engine you have is a 91 ls w/ a cable tranny,so you need to find a hydro b-series tranny, any bseries will work as lon as its a hydrolic type....mounts needed is a rear dohc del-sol mount, and shift lingage for any future q's

Re: ls swap question (dsrconcepts)
since its a non-vtec engine u can use your current wire harness.....you will have to get a thermostat housing and fan switch from a 92+ B series though since the switch is by the oil pressure sender on 90-91

Since the 1990-1993 Integras use cable transmission you won't be able to plug and play the motor and transmission. HasPort offers a kit to bolt into the 1992-1995 Honda Civic platform. The 1992-1995 Honda Civic platform utilizes a hydraulic transmission so a conversion kit can be bought through HasPort.
Here is the kit:

Here are the instructions:

If you or someone you know can manage that install, go ahead.
In my opinion, go ahead and sell the cable transmission to the older 1993 or older Integra crowd and cough up a little bit more money and get yourself a 1994+ Integra transmission since those are hydraulic. Then, it'll be easier to install an no need for extra headaches.

Re: ls swap question (dsrconcepts)
a 91 LS motor is obd0 and the eg civic is obd1. I have heard you have to swich the distributor and the fuel injectors and stuff if you want to frun it in an obd1 car. also locating a hydro tranny will be much easier if you ask me.

Re: ls swap question (dsrconcepts)
you need all 94 and up Integra manuel mounts. The only civic SOHC mount you can use is the one on top of the tranny. I would sell the cable tranny and look for a hydro tranny, and good luck with that cause its not easy to find a good one for cheap.

I have the swap in my car.
I needed:
B-Series throttle cable
HA Sport Cable to Hydro tranny conversion
94+ Integra Rear mount bracket
Del Sol VTEC Driver mount and bracket
Del Sol VTEC AC bracket [for retaining AC]
OBD-1 P75 ECU
OBD-1 LS Distributor
94+ Integra Axles
You can use the 90-93 Shift linkage
94+ Integra injectors
You can use your civic wiring harness
94+ Integra thermostat housing

This is not true. You can use the Civic rear mount if you want as long as you use the integra mount bracket.
