LS or B20 vtec...advice needed
ok so i have a b16a2 motor, but looking for more tq. my specs are ctr intake cam, itr/ctr exhaust, aem 3" CAI, stock b16 I/M & T/B, Skunk 2 adj. cam gears (when i tune, tune, TUNEEEE), ordering a RMF narrow tube replica header.
now i wanna do something with that shitty bottom end to produce abit more tq.
should i do b18b (stronger sleeves, can use usdm/jdm b16 pistons to bump up compression without spending $$ on aftermarket pistons)
or should i go b20 on stock internals
also, i know its not reliable with just slapping it in and go...so whats needed to make it really reliable and high revving without having to worry?
ARP rod bolts? stock b16 head studs? shot peened rods? balanced bottom end?

the b20 with stock internals is not going to last long either.. if your going to do the same thing like you did with the ls for the b20 then go b20.. 2.0 liters

If you want torque then add forced induction. You seem to have a good platform. I have heard the B16 is a little out of breathe at low rpm's. A nicely matched turbo or supercharger would help a lot. If you want to stay NA then I would go LS.
LS is a great setup. Plenty of room for expansion if you want to LS/Vtec or LS-t. The engines are also very cheap.
