Default Low spark in cylinder 4

Wassup guys, i just did a compression test on my motor the other day, i was hitting about 210 in each cylinder and i was getting spark, car was idling at about 500 but if any gas was given it would die out.

Cylinder 1 was getting full spark, but cylinder 4 was flickering on and off. We put new NGK plugs in and still the same problem. Could it be something with the distrubutor or possibly the spark plug wires? Also the car was starting on an LS ecu, the motor is a gsr by the way.

please help me out, John

well, a new distrubtor cap is cheap. I would get a new one just for the sake of it. Wires... rare.. but could be. Bring it to a shop, eletrical problems are such a pain.

and Sprfreek, try to be a little nicer.

If you have a spark problem in only one cyl, the its either a cap, rotor or spark plug wire problem.

The first thing I'd do is inspect your distributor cap and rotor.

it's definitely the distributor cap or the plug wire. think about it. if the rotor button was messed up, then all cylinders would get a shitty spark. replace the dizzy cap and get a new set of ngk blue plug wires, seeing as how if one wire has gone out, the others are on their way. get a new rotor button too, because it's been hitting on a shitty cap (if thats the problem) good luck

take the number 3 wire , put it on 4 , and vise versa , see if the low spark changes . if it does , its wires . im betting on cap and rotor
