OEM is probably the best, but when I go to the Zone, I ask for mid level wires, Platinum 2's or 4's and a gold standard distributer cap and rotor set. It makes me feel like it's going to keep well and last long.

ha the zone? Autozone right? i will have to go get the stuff for it then. also maybe i should have mentioned this is the beginning, when i start the car when its 100% cold it high revs to about 2500 until its warm then it drops to about a grand.

Still all the same symptoms, maybe you do have a dirty IACV. Also, if your car is dropping off that low at warm temp maybe your fuel pump is starting to die? That may be worst case scenario though.

alrighty then on my next day off i will pull the IACV off and clean it, get the new wires and plugs and see how that helps out. seems easy enough.

Yep, shoot it with electrical cleaner, take a swab to the filter grill and slap her back on. A plug tune up is straight forward. Just, for the love of God, don't mix up cylinder numbers to the dizzy. It won't end well and it'd be a very stupid move.
