Default low idle help

since i have done the minor mods to my 98 ex (i/h/e) i have notice at times my idle going down to like 200 or so rpm. what would be causing this. most of time time it idles in the 5/800 rpm range. should I check my timing? am I running to lean? i just am not smart enough to figure this out.

If you haven't adjusted or changed anything that would affect your idle, try taking off your iacv and cleaning it, this can somethimes help in this situation. If that doesn't work, report back.

is it 200 RPM above the lowest mark. the lowest mark is 500 so that means it idling about 700. if your car is idling 200, then your car would shake like crazy struggling to live.

hondas can get pretty low readings with bad iacv or fitv. but it's probably the idle air valve

i've seen 300 and 400 readings so 200 doesn't sound that unbelieveable

they make rpm gauges that you can hook up that are more accurate, and they even make digital ones to me even more accurate

what i'm talking about isn't an on board component
