loud thumping noise need help guys!
so last night i drove down to bellevue and back which was a bout 250 miles when i got back that night my front driver side was lowered about an inch more then the passenger, today i jacked up the car took off the wheel and raised the coilovers to make it even to the passenger side ( groove #7) i drove down the street to get it settled when i parked the car the side lowered again but the coilovers are on the same groove when i raised it. so now the car is still about half an inch lowered on the driver side and now when i decelerate there is a loud thumping noise. ive looked under the car for hours tryin to figure out what it is and cant find anything!! what could it be??

I'd like to know the whole suspension setup. Are you running coilovers on stock shocks? What shocks? What coilovers? Full coilovers or sleeves? What car? Take the wheel off and post a pic of that corner.
If they're omnis, I wouldn't be surprised if one of them just snapped.

kinda looks to me like stock shocks with ground controls, or GC knockoffs.
I agree on the tie rod ends. Those are pretty bad, but they wouldn't be causing your thumping noise.
Is it just me, or does it look like the sleeve is not quite sitting on the perch all the way? I've never used sleeves, so I'm not sure how they're supposed to look, but that doesn't look quite right. Also looks like the spring isn't quite all the way in the tophat.

Re: loud thumping noise need help guys!
broken tie rod boots, bolt through the shift linkage, no springs on the exhaust bolts, zip ties on brake lines....i think you got bigger problems than not sitting level....but i think the strut is blown allowing the spring to come out of its seating on the top and thumping back into place...the seats are about 1/2" tall. when you lower it off the jack, watch the spring go into its seat and see if it sits level then.

Re: loud thumping noise need help guys!
hey guys today i took off the shocks and they are definilty bad, its really tough to get down and then it takes about 5 minutes for the shocks to come back up haha so ill be needing new ones soon and im pretty sure thats why its not sittin right. as for the noise, i havent been able to get the car moving so i cant tell if its still there or not. anybody got suggestions on what shocks i should get? and is it fine just replacing one or should i replace both in the front??

Re: loud thumping noise need help guys!
replace all 4 with a set designed for lowered cars. unless you can get stockers for almost free and dont mind replacing them again in a few months
