Default Loose more Weight?

Alright I have started my gutting project of my CX and I am wondering if I should remove all the plastic pieces behind the doors and in the hatch area. This is going to be my track/DD. I don't care about noise or looks on the inside because it is a purpose built car. There will be an 8/10 point cage put in so I'm wondering if I should just scrap the rest of the rear interior.

if you want to loose weight, then remove all that is not needed. this would include all the covers that you are talking about.

yes remove all those panels, the headliner, the dash. the center console. Also there is alot of weight savings that you can do under the hood.

the dash must stay along w/ the center console(my girl likes to put **** in it). I was just wondering what you all would do if you were in my shoes. All right next step is to gut the rear of the hatch also. What can be done under the hood(besides fenders and hood) to make it lighter?

This doesn't involve under the hood obviously, but are you planning on lexan? TFAL makes a kit I think for your rear windshield and windows. Should save you quite a bit.

if this car ever goes full race I got a nice DD lined up. 94 Burb on 44" TSLs. It works. Kinda impractical but I'm kinda impractical.

Anyway I am figuring on FAL rear quarters in lexan, C/F fenders, C/F hood, maybe C/F doors if I can get enough cash, No A/C already, No P/S already, no cruise, lightweight pullies on their way(Unorthodox), and the C/F Hatch is coming soon.

She don't mind riding in it. My last racer(AI Stang) was completely gutted and she thought it was fun because it was fast. She doesn't care @ all as long as there is some sort of music and I go fast @ times.

did you get all the tar out? it sorta looks like its still in there also the mat behind the dash has some weight to it but its a bitch to get it all out. theres a knee plate under the dash on drivers side. and alot of stuff you can cut if your up to it. theres more stuff just take a look at everything in and out side your car and what you dont really need take it out i always see stuff in my car that doesnt need to be there. mines dd too. oh yea light weight battery too.

If your going full race, then take off the bumper frame in the front and rear. At least 50 pounds for both. But your loosing on the safety side. Who cares, you don't plan on crashing it. Take it off, that **** is heavy. Then you can leave the dash alone.

you can remove the usuless brackets on the motor. I know they dnt weigh that much but every ounce counts. also the sound deading if not already done. there is also the firewall mat, and what you could do is take the dash out and gut the stuff thats behind it out. like the ac blower, and all the vents and stuff. ac controls.

Also where dose your girl put stuff? the glove box right? so that would mean you dnt need the center console. Unless you use the cup holders that dnt work. but if you do use them then get rid of the e brake cover part of the console.
