Looking for MPH window switch...
This seemed like a somewhat acceptable place to post this so here it is. I am looking for a switch that would tie into the vss signal and be able to activate or deactivate something at a certain speed, why might i want this you ask?
Well i am sick of my radiator fan going on at times where it doesnt need to be on and not going on when it should. So i was hoping i could get a switch like i stated above to have the fan on from 0 to lets say 45 mph and then have it shut off after 45, since the airflow over the radiator should be sufficient at those speeds to not warrant the need for it to be on. Does someone makes something like what i am looking for?

they have a switch that does that? for the windows? if so you might be able to look at the schemetic and wire it up accordingly.
The radiator fan is easy to wire up.. on my dads car he had it so that it was always on (with ignition on)

no lol a window switch as in there is a window when it operates and when it is outside of the "window" or parameters its off. and i was thinking about having it on all the time but if it doesnt need to be on then why have it on and decrease the fan life

hahha.. i see now.. i thought you were talking about something that comes with some fancy euro car or something that rolls up your windows for you on the freeway.. lol
what i would do is just hook it up to a switch then? or put a relay so that you can turn it on or off whenever you want to override the normal operation of the fan

Re: Looking for MPH window switch... (EeeJayEight)
mainly because i want control over it and at the same time not have to worry about turning it on and off cause chances are if i put it on a switch i'll somehow forget to turn it off while the car is counting down (turbo timer) and the fan will stay on or something and kill the battery lol, i know i could wire the power to the ignition btw so that doesnt happen but i'm sure i'd find a way to screw it up

Instead of rigging a switch up, why don't you actually have the problem diagnosed and repaired so that the cooling fans cycle asa they were intended to from the factory?
Cooling fans are far too important to rig bro.

That's what I was going to say. Why worry about a $40 part? Get it running right and let it do what Honda intended it to do: Cool.
Do you expect it to go out? are you expecting less use when on the freeway to lengthen it's life?

Re: Looking for MPH window switch... (ek forever guy)
well my car has started to overheat and i dont know why, i got a new fluidyne radiator high cfm fan, new headgasket, pressure tested the system, i just thought since it only overheats in stop and go traffic a switch while its in those conditions would allow it to cool better. I dont know what would be causing it to overheat at this point, so i was hoping maybe something like this could fix/remedy it.

As long as it runs all the time it should be fine. If all cooling components are in check, it coould be the sensor or the meter itself that's messed up.
