Default Looking into buying an EG hatch, have some questions

Hey all, I already have a 91 si hatch, but I have always wanted an EG, so anyway here we go.
1) is there a difference between the 4 years they were made, or is a 92 the same as a 95?
2) what is the best platform to start with, Im looking for a daily driver that I will keep ac in but maybe swap to b series later on. Is an SI better than a dx or cx so much so that I should only pick up an si?

Thats all, also if anyone knows about a nice hatch for sale in the bay area or central CA Id love to know about it.

I suggest going here, https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=150315

Also the best platform would depend on what your plans are with the car.. Forced induction, N/A. Also how much money you have, and are willing to spend.

Specs show the cars got heavier (slightly) as the years went on. My personal favorite is the CX/VX styles as they are the lightest, coming in at 2094lbs for the 92-93, but listed as 2108 for the 94-95. I am assuming that is because of the additional air bag the cars carried from 94+. The VX has the advantage of being already wired for Vtec, while the CX does not. I have heard that ALL 92 hatches use the SI harness into the engine compartment and are pre wired for Vtec. Haven't verified this. The Si will give you power windows, power mirrors, rear wiper, 4 wheel disc, power steering, AC, and a moon roof over the other models. If you look though, you can find CX's and VX's with AC and possibly power steering as well. Depends on the creature comforts you want. For me, I don't care about power windows, mirrors, power steering, sunroof, and the rear wiper. Its just added weight. On average, the Si is about 200lbs heavier then the CX/VX models. HTH.

^^^ All very good points. I like the extra amenities in my Si especially as mine is a daily driver. Also, the 94-95 hatch's have that little thumb lift on the back hatch glass. And some of the 94's, have ABS brakes. Look for the "EH339" within the VIN # code vs the standard "EH338" for the regular Si's.

With the 94-95 Si haveing the abs also made them have the beefier front calipers from the Ex/Integra as opposed to the 92-93 Si's.

Thats right... But you do get intermittant wipers. Something I miss from time to time on my CX.
