Looking to do a SWAP
Hey guys, right now im driving a 1999 civic ex coupe (145kMiles) and i was told before instead of dumping money into turobing my D series i should do a "swap" and people mentioned before swapping with a LS B18, will that "fit" into my car? if i do that swap and how should i find one of these LS B18's with low/no miles ect, if i swapped to a B16-18 would it be better for turboing/faster? Where do i find a new engine to do the swap thats trust worthy and such.
Thanks guys
Hopefully can answer some of my questions

Re: Looking to do a SWAP
the LS B18 will fit in your car with a mount kit. And you can find the JDM B18s with low mileage on CL, ebay, or the FS threads on here. or http://hmotorsonline.com/
And you can turbo your d-series. I've never dealt with a sohc myself, but i hear they are good little turbo motors. And you will probably get some good responses on here about the turboed d-series. It always comes down to your budget and power goals. But to answer your swap question, yes, a b-18 will easily swap into your car. You just need to get the whole swap, wiring harness, ecu, linkage, motor/trans and mounts.

you could always turbo ur D series it don't take much to turn that same turbo kit to work on a b series. pretty much a new turbo manifold and ur gold.

I feel like with turboing my D series it will need more like..work/mods/changes for the D to handle a turbo? Cause right now its basically all stock, it would be great to just throw on a turbo with a few other mods but i feel like i need to change A-LOT of things for a turbo to work safely.
