Looking at a '97 Del Sol tomorrow
I'm looking at a '97 Del Sol tomorrow.
5-speed, 150K miles, black outside and in.
I will look at the wheel wells and rocker panels for rust. Some other things to look for? ? ?
One friend told me to look for a loose feeling in handling due to body flexing, floor pan stressed out from being beat on. Apparently the leaky roof insert was only in the first couple years or so - so should be OK.
Drivers seat has a tear on the seatback's left forward edge. Do I need a Del Sol seat if I want to replace it? Can I turn a lightly worn passenger seat into a driver's seat?
I drive 50 mi. each way to work so my ride has to be trusty and have great mpg.

Re: Looking at a '97 Del Sol tomorrow (brucepick)
Was not in very nice shape. I won't buy this one, though it was fun to drive.
Had been hit in front; hood slightly misaligned to fenders and left headlight assy. not aligned to bumper cover. Door locks not working right.
