Lockup not working - can I hard wire a switch to do it manually?

Lockup not working - can I hard wire a switch to do it manually?
My lockup isn't working, so it won't stay in top gear.
I've checked the lockup solenoids, the linear solenoid and the shift solenoids. All seem fine. The crankshaft speed sensor is working, I checked. I have not checked the mainshaft speed sensor yet (hard to get at) but in the meantime can I manually lockup the transmission by sending a signal to activate both A and B solenoids on.
Is it possible to hardwire a switch to force the engine into lockup, ie turn the voltage signal on for the B solenoid of the lock up solenoids so they're both on?
Or is it specifically timed, and I might damage my engine?

Okay so it seems I simply wire in a switch to activate the solenoid that locks up (I think it's solenoid B)
What about the linear solenoid? Is that critical to lockup as well?

There's a guy around here that did that. Him and his friend had a box wired to the transmission with 3 way switches and by flipping them it would shift. It was more funny than anything.

Thanks, so it can be done.
Just for the record, I have found the mainshaft speed sensor faulty. Resistance across the sensor terminals are open (no continuity). Hopefully that should fix my problem.

Not having TCC lockup will not cause the car to drop out of top gear. Our Accord does not lock up right now and it cruises in top gear with no problems. Tried to energize the solenoids but that did nothing. Pulled them and verified function. It appears it's an internal fluid delivery issue.
So, that said, I'd say your speed senor will fix the problem.
