LMA question
OK so i have some ticking type noise in my head that is intermitten. not att idle but mainly from 2500 to 4000 rpm. i checked my valve adjustment 4 times now and it is dead on. i also had thought it was exhaust leak at donut gasket seeing that i welded the flange on a little cockeyed, but i now know thats not it.
i was checking LMA's w/ each piston at tdc.myquestion is should that 3rd rocker be firm against cam and have even pressure when pushed down. they seem loose at top, it seems to me that there should be a more even pressure.
those with LMA experiance fire away
anyone try the prelude lma swap? I think this is what i am going to do if i need to and i have a feeling i do
and since i will have the cams out i guess ill put new ones in. CTR's or ITR's?

Bump for knowledge, i have a similar problem.
My ticking isn't subtle whatsoever, its the loudest ******* noise i've ever heard from the engine. I was told by some people that I could be a spun bearing, and then I was told by others that if it was a spun bearing my engine woulnd't run for even five minutes.

lmas are suppose to be really smooth with no sticking. just take out the cams and check the lma by pushing on the rocker arm. if its sticky then mostlikely its goinmg bad. but then again lmas rarely go bad.

what's LMA? my dad's car have the same problem, during idle it's totally normal, during slow speed idle it's a low noise, and after highway speed travel and slow down onto local it's at it's loudest. i can even feel the ticks from the floor. what's going on?

i pushed down on rocker W/ cam in at tdc@ each cyl. each one had some play before they went down. they didnt stick and not come up. they feel loose like there is no pressure on the rocker to the cam
