Default Light weight pullies to improve torque

I heard that upgrading all the pullies in the engine, alternator and air conditioning unit will free up more torque.

Is there an online store that sells all of them as a kit?

What have u guys gotten and how does ur cars perform now with them installed? Any "side effects"?

thankq

you should search...

pulleys have been covered over and over again...

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=562800

etc etc etc....

the gist of it is... most people say that the crank underdrive pulleys are bad because they do not have a harmonic balncer/dampener. So it can cause engine wear...

the aem ones that underdrive accesories sacrifice performance and longevity of those parts... technically they underdrive them so they should last longer but with the alt. if you have a stereo (aftermarket... aka boom booms) it won't power them properly at anything under 4-5k rpms. and with the power steering pump the only real time it's doing anything is at idle so if it's underdriven it won't be as effective at all...

Just my .02 but if you want to know all sides just click on some of the threads I linked or search for yourself.

hey! thankq for ur help!

I have a few extra speakers, 2 subs in a box, 2 amps, crossovers and stuff in my car now. So if i go with say Unorthodox Racing pulleys, my alternator might not power up properly?

I've read of how light the Unorthodox Racing pulleys are. In short, is that a good thing or bad thing for me?

Like I said... I'm not saying either way...

Some say they're fine.... some say the F things up...

I don't have a guaranteed answer for you...

but imo it's power that's not worth the risk...

How pissed would you be if you threw a rod or spun a bearing down the line and always wonder if it was the 200 dollar 5hp you "needed" did it or not...

Plus with the system you have I would DEFINATELY not recomend underdriving your alternator...

As it is your alternator doesn't put out enough power till over 2-3k... if you under drive it that will be more like 3-5k... which is NO good for the alternator or the charging system in general.
