Default Life of a D16z6

Ok, im thinking about buying this car from one of my dads friends. His wife drives the car every day to work and back except for the summertime ( she is a teacher). This car is a one owner. It is a 1992 Civic EX sedan and the d16z6 has 191,000 miles on it. It has been babied and serviced with the oil changed every 2500 miles. My question is how much longer could i expect this motor to live?

If the oil has indeed been changed at the recommended interval, then I'd expect the engine to last the life of the car.

2500 is too often except in extreme conditions.

my sol has 209k on it now. The tranny is not so hot (fork) but the engine does not burn
any oil and has no leaks. It idles well and I dorve it 1300 miles at highway speeds
a couple weeks ago. No issues. I expect it to run to at least 230k or more.

ask them if the belts and water pump were changed ?

i work with a ton of redneckish people and i love it when they bust on honda's. then they're like "man, my f-150 broke down" or "my mustang's sunroof won't open and the locks are messed up". they have like 3 and 4 year old fords and they're breaking.

10 year old car with 4 and 5 times the mileage of their cars and its running strong. love my honda

I got well over 200k on my Z6. Still kicks strong. D-series engines are hella cheap!!

yeah, i was debating with myself forever trying to decide turbo d16z6 or turbo b18b. i can get a b18b w/out tranny for 800, but its so much cheaper to go turbo d16. don't need new tranny, get engine swapped, or anything. just pistons, rods, turbo system.

Yea, i think the Z6's are really good motors. I dont wanna do a swap because IMO thats what everyone does now. Theres a good d-series engine from every civic made since 88, except the DPFI engines and the 99-00 Si. I just plan on doing a D build up and its alot cheaper and lighter than a B swap.

131k and no leaks, no oil consumption, no burn off, runs strong.
